Ira Porietis: Like what the person above me said, this game is about capture territory but you can capture their chess too.Every piece of chess you capture means one point for you and every point of territory you capture also means one point.Just an advise don't put extra stone in your territory if you don't know where els to put, since it will make your territory smaller and the start of the game try to plot as big as possible but still able to protect so you can get more territory. From what i found, Go this game is the hardest board game in this world, beginner normally know the basic rules then start placing chess which they think is right then slowly gaining experience. So pracitse more! Here is a site which allow you to play against player online.http://www.flyordie.com/board-games/go.html...Show more
Aldo Decurtis: The main objective of go is to surround more territory than your opponent. You put stones on the board, and try to wall off chunks of 'intersections'! on the board, which are worth one point each. The game is NOT about capturing stones - in normal games, capturing stones plays a small part. At the end of the game (in Japanese scoring), you count all the enemy stones you captured, and all the points on the board you have surrounded, and that is your final score. Other scoring systems have very minor differences, but Japanese is what you'll be playing most of the time on KGS anyway. You should check out this tutorial, it is very detailed and explains everything you'll need to know about the rules of go:http://playgo.to/interactive/If after reading it you still have questions, you can e-mail me with your KGS name (my e-mail is in my Y!Answers profile) and I can try to find time to play a teaching game with you. Good luck, have fun playing go....Show more
