Where s a good place to live if I want to commute to NYC?

Monica Voltin: *I'm also willing to consider working in Philadelphia as well. Again, just don't want to live in the city.

Foster Koopmann: Within an hour's commute by car of Manhattan is roughly Farmingdale on Long Island, White Plains in Westchester County, Weston in Connecticut, Mahwah in Northern NJ, Wayne in Central NJ or maybe E Brunswick in NJ.Take a map, draw a line connecting these points, and you've got the area to research.I should mention that all these areas are very expensive and traffic is fierce and getting worse....Show more

Joie Libutti: PLEASE do not not move until you have a signed contract for a job - in Philadelphia, NY, Boston, Washington, or ANYWHERE. This field is already jammed with people with TONS of great education and credentials - I should know, since I own a business that has provided live classical music for over a thousand weddings and parties in NY - just north of NYC. The whole event-planning things is slowly but surely co! llapsing - people do their OWN thing more and more, enlisting friends for delegated jobs, or using the staff at the venue, who then refer thru a Recommended Vendors list. Event planners - unless in-house large-corporate employees - and going the way of travel agents. I wish you good luck in finding a position, IF you are highly qualified - but that one sentence of yours sent up a flag for me. Best wishes finding a good job....Show more
