This investigation will determine 1) what information was compromised; 2) What are the chances that the compromised information fell into the hands of a hostile intilligence service; 3) What does the hostile intelligence service now know and are the potential consequences of them knowing? and 4) What countermeasures should be taken to mitigate the the effects of the comprimised information?Finally will come the 'heads will roll' investigation. This is where the perosn or people who screwed up are punished. In a minor 'no harm done' incident the (lucky) person may be able to get off with a warning and additional training.
