Dorinda Metzer: The quality of education varies greatly, and the schools that provide a better education cost more (i.e. private vs. public). The value of the education isn't so much what you learn and remember as what you come out with. The real value is the degree, you are paying for a piece of paper that tells future employers you are not an idiot and it is a pretty much a minimum requirement for any job these days that doesn't involve flipping a burger. You are paying for the ability to be able to support yourself and your family with a decent job. End of story....Show more
Aron Ramu: The old statement "If you think education is expensive, you should see what ignorance costs" still rings true. Any education is worth what you put into it. The onus of putting the information and education to use is up to the individual.You could learn the same information yourself, without the university structure, but the mistakes, extra time, redundancy would be very expensive! .
