is this a good time to invest in BOND FUNDS?

Scot Sepulbeda: This is not a good time to invest in Bond funds but depending on your asset allocation, some might be invested there. Frankly though there are blue chip dividend paying stocks that are beating the pants off of bond funds these days. Think instead PG, CVX, MCD, ABT.

Laveta Fathy: IMHO! , only perhaps in a short-term bond fund. Pay careful attention to the duration of the fund - which measures the "average" bond term held by the fund. The longer the duration, the more severely the fund will be hurt by rising interest rates.
