Shan Lanen: i value art because it evokes emotion. if i like a piece a lot, and it makes me happy, i will keep it in my home so i can see it everyday. also, i like feeling inspired by other artists technique and thoughtfulness. making "good" art is not easy.

A great painting has so many elements that must come together, composition, light, color, depth, and finally a message.
